Here's his story

There are many things that can affect someone’s perspective of the world. There are the obvious things. Just look at the news. The economy is in the gutter. There is conflict all over the world. The United States is involved in most of it. The earth is continuing to be desecrated, although changes are being made. Times are bleak for many. I try to view the world a little differently. I see the world optimistically.

The earth has already provided everything that is needed for survival. The rest is up to each individual person. People are becoming more aware of their effect on the earth. There are more and more people recycling and composting. Chemical companies are finally being environmentally responsible. Big corporations are reducing packaging. There are many good things going on to help preserve the earth. Unfortunately, most of the green alternatives are more expensive. Green alternatives, especially in these times, are less available to people. Organic gardening is by far better for the earth, but it is also more expensive. It is the same with packaging. Cheaper packaging for products is far worse for the environment, but it is the only option for many consumers. Legislation needs to be passed to help protect our environment. We need to pass regulations that hold corporations to certain standards in order to protect what gives us life.

I see opportunity in the world. Even with the current economy, if you make the right investments, they will pay off in the years to come. Many people think that they simply deserve things. If you want something, you go and get it. The world is full of opportunity. Many people can’t get jobs. Go to school and better your education. Can’t afford it? The federal government is practically shoving money in people’s pockets. There is no reason that someone cannot better themselves and make their life better.

I see more opportunity now then five years ago. Before the economic downturn, life was easier. People didn’t have as many problems. That view is false. When people are doing well, they become irresponsible, oblivious to what dangers lay ahead. People over-extended themselves and had no financial planning. Corporations forged deals and practiced unethical business. No one cared for their neighbor and fellow humans. Many were self-centered. The economic downturn is a good thing that breaks us down and takes us back to basics. It has forced us to become ethical again in our business practices. People have more compassion for their peers in hardship.

Nothing comes without hard work...............................................

If we are to improve our world, we have to work hard to do our part. We have to make sure the companies we do business with do theirs.
